In 1950s, in order to improve the quality of teacher education and train high quality teachers, the National Council for accreditation of Teacher Education was founded, opening a prelude to the accreditation of teacher education. In more than half a century later, with the improving, NCATE has achieved practical achievement of attractting people’s attention. In 1990s, Teacher Education Accreditation Council was founded,which has different accreditation styles with NCATE. They both have their own advantages and disadvantages, which lead to the question and the criticism of the public. In the 21st century, Accreditation in teacher education in America constantly changed and developed. The Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation was founded,which combined with the above two accreditation institutions, In American accreditation in teacher education appeared the new steering. Studys on historical development track of America accreditation of Teacher Education Institutions have contributed a lot to the construction of teacher education accreditation system of USA’s experience and lessons, so as to construct and provide the reference for the teacher education accreditation system of other countries including China.This paper is divided into five parts:The first part is the introduction,which include the reason of selecting the topic, the domestic and foreign research present situation, the definition of related concepts, research significance, research objectives, research methods etc.;The second part proved a background of the NCATE,clarifying its historical evolution,analysing its effect of practice;The third part proved the reason of Teacher Education Accreditation Council, analysis of the composition and quality principles of its members, the practical effect of dialysis;The Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation was the fourth part, combs the historical background of the emergence, clarify its member composition, the paper introduces its certification standards;The fifth part summarizes the accreditation in teacher education practice effect, clarifying the development process America teacher education certification problems, proved the accreditation of teacher education law.
