The Research Of Changchun Urban’s Development In 1800-1898

Changchun was the nomadic to Mongol princes and Dukes in Qing dynasty and gradually developed into today’s international metropolis. From the set up in 1800 to nearly 1898 years before the railways’construction, is in the early period of the Changchun city development, but also the basis for the development of Changchun city. This article will study on the development of the early stage of the Changchun city combining ArcGIS software in three aspects that the city location analysis, urban form and urban functions evolving from. ArcGIS software has been introduced into Chinese historical geography field more than ten years, but seldom used in the ancient city location research, this article will try to explore the application of ArcGIS analysis in the ancient city site selection with the analysis of the Changchun city’s location. The site is the carrier and the basis of the subsequent development of city. In the beginning Xinlicheng is the town where selected as the government be, and then the government moved to KuanChengzi. The result of comprehensive analysis was conducted to site selection by using ArcGIS software is that Xinlicheng is not the most appropriate location, after the government moved to the most suitable location KuanChengzi in 1825, Changchun city’s development is in the right direction. Using ArcGIS software to recover early urban form of Changchun city, what we can know through it, because it is a natural development, the external boundary of Changchun city presents as a irregular shape, there is small changes in the early and in the mid the build of the wall has stabilized the city boundary, in the late extension has appeared along the outside of the gate and the main traffic road to the north and southwest. The internal spatial structure of Changchun city is relatively single, streets and blocks are naturally formed, not in a deliberate plan, some blocks are commercial developed, the city’s main business district has experienced the process of moving from south to west, but the center of the city has not yet formed. Because the whole Northeast China had unproductive, be relative to the inland city, the development of Changchun city is slowly behind. With the development of society and economy, the function of Changchun city also is changing, in the early it is the economic and political center of the agricultural areas, because of the open policy of Northeast China and the rise of the Liao River shipping, Changchun evolved into the commodity distribution center of the central region of Northeast China. In this paper, through the early stage of the software development of Changchun city, trying to find the most scientific method untangle Changchun city development, contribute to the further research and planning and construction of Changchun city render.
