The biology curriculum, as an experiment-based subject with particular emphasis on the development of experiment, has an irreplaceable role in the teaching system of biology curriculum. So it is one of important ways for students’ all-round development and cultivation of science quality. Since the implemention of new curricula in basic education, the idea of “independence, cooperation and exploration” was advocated to guide the development of junior middle school biological curriculum, which has functioned positively on the improvement of biological experiment teaching of junior middle school. However, in practice, the development of biological experiment teaching is affected by many factors which are region and time specific, so the deep exploration is needed to be carried out according to local conditions.This paper used questionnaire survey method, interview method and literature collection to investigate the present situation of biological experiment teaching in 34 middle schools and 51 biology techears in Hinggan League, and understood the limit factors of biological experiment teaching in in Hinggan League. We also compared and analyzed the difference and superiority and inferiority of biological experiment teaching between urban and rural junior middle school, and proposed the suggestions.The results showed that presently most of the biological experiment teaching could be implemented according to new curriculum standard in Hinggan League, but the all courses required by new curriculum standard were still not able to be fully implemented, and in part of rural middle school the implemention ratio of new curriculum of biological experiment did not receive 50%. The factors limited the biological experiment teaching in Hinggan League included the shortage of teachers, experimental equipment and materials, and also the limited understanding on new curriculum, the teaching ideas, laboratory management and teacher training. Additionally, there exited obvious gap between urban and rural in biological experiment teaching, but the middle school in rural also had some advantages in acquirement of experimental materials and development of practice teaching.Therefore, in the future education practice, We should gradually promote the construction of the junior high school biology laboratory, improve and strengthen the laboratory management, change the inert ideas, make full use of existing teaching resources, innovate the design of improved experiment, expand the space of biological experiment teaching, establish a more scientific and effective evaluation system by promoting teaching reform and changing teaching idea, protect teachers’ training constantly and improve the quality of teachers. The results of this study will provide a reference for the construction of biological experiment teaching in junior middle school in Hinggan League.
