| Experimental teaching has always been one of the key points of biology teaching.The "Course Standard" of biology in junior high school also mentions that even if the hardware facilities are limited,teachers should create conditions and set up good experiments according to local conditions.However,there are more or less problems in junior high schools in township areas,such as the lack of attention to biology,the weak teaching staff and the insufficient allocation of biological laboratory facilities,which lead to the poor opening of biological experiments in township areas and even become a mere formality,and the cultivation of students ’ abilities has also been greatly affected.The open experimental teaching mode is a kind of active and exploratory experimental teaching mode,which has the characteristics of taking students as the main body,without limit of time and content,and giving students higher experimental freedom.If teachers can reasonably apply the open experimental teaching mode in biological experiment teaching,they can cultivate students ’ ability in all aspects under limited conditions.This research mainly adopts the method of questionnaire survey and comparative experiment.First,26 biology teachers from 10 township junior high schools in Panzhou City and 730 eighth-grade students from three middle schools in Jichangping Town are randomly selected to understand the current situation of biology experimental teaching in junior high schools in the area through questionnaires.Second,through the pre-test,two parallel classes of Grade 7 in Songhe Middle School,Class 1 and Class 2,are selected as the subjects of teaching practice.Open experimental teaching mode(experimental class)and conventional experimental teaching mode(control class)were used for teaching..After the practice,analyze the pre-test and post-test results of the students’ creativity,scientific inquiry ability and biological learning interest in the two classes,and objectively evaluate the effect of open experimental teaching mode on students’ scientific inquiry ability,creativity and biological learning interest.The survey results show that : Although biology teachers in rural junior high schools in Panzhou City have recognized the importance of experiments,due to the lack of biological experimental equipment,drugs and class hours,coupled with the small number of junior high school biology teachers in rural areas,students ’ basic deviation and other reasons,in order to complete the experimental teaching as much as possible,many teachers in the teaching of experimental video or pictures to replace students ’own hands-on operation,only to let students master relevant theoretical knowledge.Most students are very interested in biology experiments,and think that the experiment can help to understand the key and difficult knowledge of biology,improve interest in learning and exercise hands-on ability,but the attention is difficult to focus and the participation is low.At the same time,students reflect that most teachers will explain the experimental phenomena before the experiment,and there are problems such as incomplete and low frequency in the investigation of experimental skills and abilities.The results of teaching practice show that after the end of practice,students in the experimental class and the control class have significant differences in scientific inquiry ability and creativity,among which the difference in scientific inquiry ability is extremely significant.There is no significant difference in biological learning interest.Before and after the teaching practice,the students in the experimental class have significant differences in scientific inquiry ability,creativity and biological learning interest.In summary,the use of conventional experimental teaching mode and the application of open experimental teaching mode in junior high school biology experiment teaching can stimulate students ’ interest in biology learning to a certain extent,but the difference between the two classes is not obvious,and the open experimental teaching mode can significantly improve students ’ scientific inquiry ability and creativity,and the cultivation effect of scientific inquiry ability is better.Therefore,the reasonable use of open experimental teaching mode in junior high school biology experiment teaching is conducive to the development of students ’ ability,so as to realize the curriculum goal of cultivating their biological scientific literacy. |
