| Clues before class are important parts of Chinese teaching material for junior middle school. They are small texts before selections in each unit. There is no doubt that clues before class in Chinese teaching material reflect the goals and requests of curriculum standard and they include a wealth of information serving teaching and learning. However, as clues before class direct vaguely, they are not used so frequently by teachers and students, which results in a waste of resources! This paper takes Chinese teaching material of the PEP edition for junior middles school as an object of study, and it studies the constitution, function and usage of clues before class, which can offer some thought-provoking ideas for Chinese teaching.This paper is divided into five sections:The introduction explains the reasons for selecting the subject and research significance, and it describes the present research situation at home and abroad.The first chapter describes the constitution and function of clues before class by using the documentary method. Clues before class include clues in each unit and clues in each text. Clues before class arouse students’ interest, develop the theme, prompt the learning method, introduce the background and help students understand the texts.Chapter two analyzes the present using situation of clues before class by using the method of investigation and analysis, and it summarizes the reasons for using limits and puts forward some improving suggestions.Chapter three introduces several ways to use clues before class from the perspectives of teachers and students by using interviewing method and documentary method.The conclusion summarizes the whole text. |
