Fairness, one of the important contents of children's socialisation,is of great significance to the development of children. In order to research the impacts of selective trust on the fair distribution behaviour of 4-6 year old children, this study used a simple random sampling method to select 246 4-6 year old children from four kindergartens as the research object and used the main paradigm of selective trust to investigate the developmental characteristics of selective trust in 4-6 year old children and the impacts of selective trust on fair distribution behaviour in 4-6 year old children. This study consisted of three parts: The first part was to investigate the influencing mechanism of selective trust under social clues on the fair distribution behaviour of 4-6 year old children; The second part was to investigate the influencing mechanism of selective trust under epistemic clues on the fair distribution behaviour of 4-6 year old children; The third was to investigate the influencing mechanism of selective trust in the conflict between social clues and epistemic clues on the fair distribution behaviour of 4-6 year old children.Research indicates:(1)The developmental characteristics of selective trust in 4-6 year old children: Influenced by social c lues, children trusted friends and distrusted strangers.Influenced by epistemic clues, children trusted informants with high accuracy and distrusted informants with low accuracy. When social clues conflicted with epistemic clues, the selective trust of children was reversed.Children would trust strangers with high accuracy rather than friends with low accuracy. There existed an age difference in the elective trust of children. With the growth of age, children's selective trust ability was gradually enhanced. However, there was no gender difference in children's selective trust.(2)The impacts of selective trust on the fair distribution of 4-6 year old children: With the increase of age and the influence of selective trust, children d istributed more stickers to trusted people than to the distrusted ones, resulting in fairer contribution;Children distributed fewer stickers to those distrusted people than the trusted ones, resulting in more selfinterested distribution. When social c lues and epistemic clues conflicted,4-6 year old children distributed more stickers to trusted strangers with high accuracy than the distrusted ones, showing fair behaviours;Children distributed fewer stickers to distrusted friends with low accuracy than the trusted ones, mainly showing egocentric distribution.Based on the above research results, the educational suggestions proposed in this study are as follows:(1)Educators should reasonably cultivate children's selective trust ability;(2)Teachers and parents should form educational synergy;(3)Teachers and parents should be role models of fair distribution.
