Social Work Intervention With Children Witnessing Domestic Violence

Domestic violence exists in every corner of the world, it is seriously harm to people’s physical and mental health, especially the minors in the environment of violence. Violence can make children witnessed appear physiological, cognitive, behavior problem etc., and they need to be the concern of the society. However, in our country, there have been few social work involves children witnessed of domestic violence, also did not form a complete set of domestic violence intervention and protection system of witness for children.The case work as one of the three methods of social work intervention in domestic violence,when it was setted in the field of children witnessed of domestic violence, how should we operate it and what methods and skills we should employ, That the current domestic violence should be focused in this field, This paper studies the way of the case work of social work intervention to the case of domestic violence children witnessed, not only expand the social work services, service content,and also deepen the contents of the social work.The research mainly adopted the questionnaire survey, interview and action research,on the basis of the model of social psychological, We adopt the method of case intervention in domestic violence cases children witnessed, And through the case of service process reflecting on the case work’s method and skill, The results show that:the intervention on domestic violence children witness of the case work has its unique advantages, but there are obvious shortcomings in the service process. First, the intervention method is relatively simple, it is difficult to link resources. Second, the Intervention skills are shortage, the service process lacks of continuity. Third, social worker identity is not high, there is the role of the dilemma in the discovery and service of domestic violence witnessed children. The court, women’s Federation, hospitals, schools, social organizations to form a joint force, from prevention to find, from the intervention to follow up, did not form a complete set of service system.
