The biology is natural science which includes numerous biological concepts and realities to research life phenomena and their activity routines. For a long time, the biological teachers devoted themselves to helping students to remember multitudinous biological knowledge and the efficient method to do this. With the advent of Core Concept, people start to realize the important significance of Core Concept teaching. In recent years, many advices of Core Concept teaching have been raised by educational scholars in our country and teachers are also exploring the mode and effect of Core Concept teaching in class. So now Core Concept teaching is in an exploratory stage. Based on this thinking one research entitled The Core-Concept-Based Instructional Design for Senior Biology was presented in this paper. Firstly, the content concepts were defined by the literatures and practices. Then the core concepts of The PEP High School Biology were divided and teased and The Core-Concept-Centered Teaching Mode was presented with cases showing based on the previous research results of Core Concept Teaching. Finally, the Teaching Design Cases had been evaluated in different levels. After teaching practices and evaluation, this paper suggested that The Core-Concept-Centered Instructional Design can help teachers to seize and use textbooks, to lead to the teaching activities’going, to efficiently reduce the memory burden of students, to cultivate biological literacy and encourage students studying biological knowledge with positive attitude. It shows feasibility of the The Core-Concept-Based Instructional Design Mode for Senior Biology.
