Core concept is formed by summing up and refining a large number of facts,principles,laws and general concepts of a subject area,in which core concept is the most dominant.A lot of researches and practices on core concept teachingshow that the core concept teaching can reduce the students' memory of isolate dconcepts and facts,and effectively improve the efficiency of classroom teaching.The core concept teaching of biology has also been the concern of the majority of biological educators.For example,the second point of "teaching advice to teachers" emphasizes the need to put the core concepts and their interrelation in the important position of teaching in Teachers' book of High school biology of People's Education Press.This subject mainly adopts the method of lesson study to carry on the practical research to the effective teaching of the core concept of biology in high school.Through practical teaching of the "nucleus-control center of the system" section of the core concept and refinement analysis and research of the teaching process,it is found that the teaching model of "leading-subject" is the best mode to realize effective teaching of core concept.This study can not only prom-ote the development of teachers and students,but also provide references for th-e teaching work of front-line teachers.This paper altogether divides into four parts.In the first part,the paper introduces the background of the topic from the aspects of the core concept teaching and the lesson study,secondly defines the relevant concept and summarizes the method of the research,and finally comes the significance of the research.The second part mainly introduces the relevant teaching strategies and corresponding theoretical basis,including the teaching strategies of The Advance Organizer of traditional education,scaffolding instruction that plot “learning” on the dominating position,the game teaching strategies and the inquiry teaching strategies.The third part is the refinement process of the specific curriculum,taking two parallel classes of Senior Grade One in a high school as the teaching objects,then researching the effective teaching practice of the core conceptof to the "nuclear-system control" section,it is found that the teaching model of "leading-subject" is the best mode to realize effective teaching of core concept,which particularly emphasis on teachers' guiding role in the core concept teaching.The fourth part is a summary of the conclusions of the study and the reflection on the whole research and expectations for the further study.
