A Comparetive Study On Sino-UK Of Practice Course In Initial Teacher Education

In21th Century, with the reform and development of basic education field, how toimprove the professional level of teachers is a critical issue in teacher education. In2011,China’s teacher education curriculum standard proposed to vigorously develop teachereducation practice curriculum. It suggested that initial teachers need to understand andinternalize theory knowledge through personal experience, eventually initial teacher can growto professional teacher which meet the social needs. However, at present the developmentlevel of China’s initial teacher education practice curriculum is far from the westerndeveloped countries. Since the20th Century, the UK has begun to establish “school-based”teacher training mode. Nowadays its practice curriculum system has fully developed whichprovides reference for our country’s initial teacher education practice curriculum reform.This paper focus on initial teacher education practice curriculum. Firstly, ravel out thehistorical development of China and the UK’s initial teacher education practice curriculumand analyze of the development process. Secondly, take the practical knowledge, empiricismand constructionism as theoretical basis to explain the important role of education practicecurriculum in teacher education system. Thirdly, carry on a comparative study on fourdimensions---standard, content, implementation and evaluation between China and the UK’sinitial teacher education practice curriculum so as to reflect differences of the overall structureexisting in the two countries. Finally, summarized the characteristics of the UK anddisadvantages of China which in initial teacher education practice curriculum system, thenmade reasonable suggestions in order to improve our initial teacher education practicecurriculum structure.
