| Ice hockey is one of the most beloved winter sport. Ice hockey has great value in athletics, fitness, culture and commerce. It is necessary to have good natural conditions, rinks and equipment to carry out ice hockey. The ice hockey team of Beijing has made great achievements in both domestic and foreign games in recent years due to the following reasons: the high level of development of economy and culture of Beijing, the long-existing ice hockey culture, the leading facilities (Beijing currently has17indoor rinks which constitute15.5%of all rinks in China and is the highest ratio across the country). Particularly, Beijing and Zhangjiakou, Hebei to cohost the Winter Olympic Games in2022, which provides a excellent opportunity to the development of ice hockey in Beijing. However, by using literature research, expert interview, field research etc. and in depth analyzing the obstacles and problems in the cultivation of athletic ice hockey players in Beijing, this thesis reaches conclusions as follows:1. The structures of both age and gender of athletic ice hockey players are not optimal. The tiers of Beijing athletic ice hockey players in different ages have not established, the players concentrate in the tiers of under6and the age between6-8whereas there are not enough players in the tiers of above12and the age between10-12. Besides, female players are rare, even in some tiers there are no female players. This will affect the sustainable development of ice hockey of Beijing.2. The cultivation of ice hockey players in Beijing is relatively special and relies mostly on family and society, which has obvious pros and cons. The pros are:it is effective to alleviate the "conflict between study and training" and it helps players to use the knowledge to understand the problems during training better. The con is that it is difficult to ensure the necessary amount of training. 3. The major problems and causes of these problems in the cultivation of athletic ice hockey players in Beijing are:first, the conflict between study and training prohibits most players from receive professional training, which causes the lack of reserve players; second, due to the lack of professional training for coaches and the lagging methods to train coaches, the coaching level is limited and not innovative; third, the high cost of rinks and equipments to carry out ice hockey prevents many youth to participate in ice hockey.Based on the problems above, this thesis proposes suggestions as follows:first, based on the characteristics of China and especially Beijing, it is necessary to continue the experiment of cultivation of ice hockey players through the combination of education and training; second, improve the coaching abilities and overall qualities of coaches by enhancing the professional training for coaches in various ways; third, corresponding regulations should be established to specify the process of the employment of coaches; fourth, enhance the market development and introduce various investment. |
