Due to the characteristics of basketball teaching in senior high school, a commonphenomenon exists that teachers tend to adopt summative evaluation or results-oriented,single evaluation according to daily basketball teaching contents and standards, which isgenerally because teachers with limited time and energy have larger classes. This methodof evaluation goes with strong subjectivity but a lack of objectivity so that the authenticityand validity of the evaluation is not high. In this way, students show great interest in thebasketball classes while they have no interest in the contents of the class. Performanceevaluation, a foreign method of assessemt advocated in a complex learning process,embodies the spirit of creativity and innovation. Study on the basketball teaching in theway of performance evaluation, which is based on the curriculum standards, is a evaluationabout complex learning process. The daily basketball teaching is not merely aimed at thesingle technology but focuses on the evaluation of the students’ performance in class andeventually strenghten the students’ experience.In this paper, we study the performace in basketball calsses of the students fromSenior1, Jiangsu Xishan Senior High School using the literature material method,interview method, education experimental method, mathematical statistics method, casestudies and other methods.The results show that:performance assessment can lead studentsto have a more objective and comprehensive understanding of their learing process. And italso inspires students to show themselves and have positive attitudes towards thebasketball classes. What’s more,Performance evaluation of learning technology level ofstudents’ basketball significantly improve the technical and tactical level, promote theformation of learning motivation.In the end, Performance evaluation of learning inspiresstudents’ enthusiasm of self display, improve their enthusiasm for basketball learning.
