With the constant reform and in-depth development in various fields in our country,national construction requires a large number of technical personnel, and many enterprisesappear "skilled worker shortage". In such situations, our country is vigorously developingthe technical education. And so far, there have been more than3,000technical schools thatthe Labor Department is responsible for. The main task of these schools is to train thetechnical personnel with mid-level skill for our country and society. In order to adapt to theneeds of national construction and social employment, students in technical schools notonly need excellent technical skills, but also a good overall qualities sound psychology andhealthy body.Technical school students, with its unique practicality, in long and high-intensitywork, their physical health is very important. Therefore, to promote students to form habitsof physical exercise during the school, the concept of lifelong physical exercise, theprevention of occupational diseases, Physical Education becomes one of the indispensablecurriculums to train qualified technical personnel. But Physical Education in technicalschools gradually appears many problems inconsistent with Physical Education reform.However, students are accepting pre-employment education, demanding strong technicalexpertise, ability to operate independently and good hands-on skills. Also, compared withother peers, technical school students in physical, physiological, psychological load isdifferent. Thus, in the sports teaching in technical schools, the new requirements of how toimprove the quality of teaching, optimize teaching courses, increase students’ physical andmental capacity are raised.This article adopted some methods such as documentation, questionnaires,interviews, statistics and logical analysis. By comparing the theory with teaching practice,it made investigation and analysis of Physical Education goals, teachers, teaching content,teaching mode, teaching methods, teaching conditions, teaching evaluation, learning status and other aspects of several technical schools in Nanjing. Aimed at understanding ofPhysical Education status, combined with students’ professional characteristics, it made atheoretical basis, so as to improve and innovate Physical Education and promote studentinterest in sports participation.Conclusions as followed:1. The unique teaching characteristics of technician colleges, the teacher’s position,the enthusiasm of the students, curriculum, facility and other factors produce an effect onthe quality and direction of Physical Education.2.In some technician colleges, the lack of teachers, boring class teaching content,teaching organizational forms, methods monotonous are reducing the students’ enthusiasmand participation. To cultivate the habit of physical exercise, the concept of lifelongphysical activity, prevention of occupational patients as a starting point, we suggestenhancing the theoretical teaching, improving student interest, and enriching students’sports knowledge with using multimedia.3.In recent years, as several technician colleges in Nanjing were upgraded fromseniortechnical schools, the lack of Physical Education teachers, unideal teacher qualificationsand job titles, heavy workload, less exchange opportunities are seriously affecting thedevelopment of physical teaching. So we should strengthen operational capacity andimprove the overall quality of teaching teachers.4.The lack of teachers, should give policy support, and effectively improvethe mechanic colleges the treatment of teachers, sports teaching to attract sportsprofessional students to join the mechanic colleges to make up the gap,physical educationteachers.5.Inadequate funding and unideal sports ground, infrastructure, equipments can notmeet the needs of teaching and extracurricular activities; there should be more input andeffort to promote Physical Education and development of student extracurricular sportsactivities.
