Modern society is making constant progress and the economy is developing rapidly,butthe social moral is decresing, such as serious lack of social integrity fake everywhere,social prohibition pornography also.The traditional Chinese social ethics is experiencing anunprecedented severe impact and challenge, which deeply influenced the young generation,we often see teenagers who escape from their classes and from their schools.They also cheatin the exam,run away from home. Therefore, we can see that when facing social problems,they feel confused,puzzled,frusrated,anxious and even their emotions are out of control.Thislead to the appearance many appealing problems, such as poisoning case of FuDanUniversity,the murder in NanHang University. These kind of events not only expose thedisadvantages of our education in families, schools and society, but also reflec theproblems which lie in our education in those places. They are becoming increasinglyprominent practical problems. It is these problems that make some teenagers grow up withoutforming sound personalities,thus become men with flaws in their characters.It is pointed out in Universal Education of the World in1990that another equallyimportant goal of the development of education is the transmission and abundance of cultureand moral values. Countries aroud the world emphasis on character education and try tosatisfy the need of development of human beings. Many countries have carried on the reformof moral eudcation,aimed at cultivating the moral characters of teenagers.Human education is a systematic one,which includes edcation in families,schools andsociety. All of them are related to each other and combined with each other effectively.Successful education should be a combination of the three successfully. Family is the centerof one’s life,and is also the most basic social unit. Family plays an important role in theprocess of the form of one’s character and the development of emotion. Ever since ancienttimes,China has attached great importance to family education problems,especially charactereducation,thinking that family education is not only a foundation,but also a donimant one,and other education is assistance.This paper makes a research on how family education influence adolescent character.First it discuss the scientific connotation and the importance of family education. It mainly analys the current stste of family eudcation in China and points out the current problemsexisting in the education of family.In the second part of this paper,the positon and the role of family education inadolescent character foming and studied. It mainly analyses the current situation of adolescentcharacter education and its causes. By comparing the different role of the social education,school education and family education,we can conclude that family education has the deepestand most lasting influence on the education of adolescent character education.The third part of the paper analyses the current status of adolescent character educationin families. Due to the economic globalization in today’s society,especially the rapiddevelopment China’s socialist market economy,family education is facing new challengesand new problems, which seriously impact the health of adolescent’s character development.Finally,the paper makes suggestions on how to strengthen the adolescent charactereducation in families. Adolescent character education is not a short period one. It should bethe most important education which is carried on throughout one’s whole life. Therefore,inaddition to the focus and support from our country,our society and schools,it is moreimportant to play the unique advantage in family education. Finally eudcation should includefollowing items; to combine social education,school edcation, family education together; toestablish harmnious family relationships, to keep the whole structure of a family and to buildtolerance and harmonious family atmosphere. Family education should put it at the first placeto cultivate teenager’s healthy characters and try to build “Learing Patter” in the family. Itshould also form a social responsibility in our teenagers, let them be the responsiblegeneration. They should have frustration education, improving the ability to face frustrationand meeting the challenge in their life.
