Family Character Education From The Perspective Of Moral Socialization Studies

The character is the moral tendency that presents automatic,inherent and persistent.It plays an important role in determining and controlling the individual's moral behavior.One's moral behavior is the reflection of his character.Adolescence is the key period for individual character development,in which good moral character cultivation lays a solid foundation for moral socialization in their lives.Since the 21st century,the level of moral development of young people is optimistic in general,which is reflected in the vast majority of young people.And they adhere to the core values of socialism and have good dreams and the determination to fight,their morality self-cultivation is also in a high level.But at the same time we have also seen current youth faced moral dilemma of socialization because of the complex situations:inappropriate home education has resulted in moral socialization problems.Ignoring young people's moral character education in schools has exacerbated the problem;The evils of society has affected the healthy growth of young people;Disadvantages of rapid development of Internet information has gradually corrupted the minds of young people.Under the impact of these negative factors,many young people has been caught in a moral dilemma in China:moral knowledge and action are disjointed;the standard of moral criteria are multiplied;valuing utility rather than serving others,indifferent social responsibility,badly moral behaviour.Socialization of the individual can not be separated from the social environment,family is the first place for moral socialization of youth and the cradle to cultivate moral character of youth.Family education especially specific character education plays an important role in cultivating youth moral.Its initialization as well as closing,potential,continuity,fundamantality determines its key roles in youth moral socialization.So this research aims to analyze reasons which have resulted in youth moral socialization problems from the perspective of family character education.Intellectual-oriented family has neglected moral education;Family moral education focus on moral knowledge but not character will;Parents' knowledge is separated from their actions.The function of family character education is weakening.Meanwhile from the perspective of family character education,this essay tries to solve the moral socialization problems of youth:the importance of family character education,following physical and mental development of young people;Shaping the moral strength and moral practice;Parents improve their cultural and moral self-cultivation and make an example;Form a good upbringing;Creating a harmonious family environment;cultivating youth subjectivity and self education;building character education partnership among the family,schools and community.Optimizing family character education and enhancing the effectiveness of family character education are benificial to develop the moral character and improve moral quality of young people in the new century.They are also helpful to solve current problems in moral socialization of youth groups and to help promote the healthy development of young people.They can also promote the harmony and unity of the family and modern friendly family construction.They not only optimize the education environment but also cultivate excellent and constructive people for the nation's modernization and revival.
