College Students’ Political Participation Research Under The New Media

With the rapid development of network technology, the new media age is coming. College students play an important role in the use of new media which has into all the aspects of sociey. College students’ study and life all related to the new media, college students’ political participation under the new media also show new peculiarity. In the future, college students is the main power of the future political activities, and affects the level of political development and political civilization in our country’ future. So, it is important to research the current situation of college students’ political participation under the new media, and find effective method to promote the orderly political participation of college students.This study which uses empirical research methods and through the form of a questionnaire survey to do quantitative research about the present situation of college students’ political participation behavior status and attitude.The analysis from which has the conclusion of that college students’ political participation under the new media environment present a political participation relative indifference phenomenon, but the enthusiasm of the college students’ understanding of politics is still very high, only lacking of action. Compare four participate way which are the government’s official websit, BBS, Weibo and Weixin circle of friends, we found Weibo is the highest way. So overall, The political participation of college students attitude is positive, but also has individual factors. And the influence factors are not only include the objective such as the different of gender, political landscape and whether or not has civil servant in a family, it also includes the subjective factors such as political participation attitude.Aimed at the situation, this study puts forward the corresponding suggestion, expect to be able to improve the current situation of college students’ political participation, to prompt development of college students’ political participation more reasonable, and make some efforts to promote China’s democratization process.
