Mathematics is one of the basic subjects. Math homework is an extension of mathematicsteaching. For high school students, math homework is a way of consolidating knowledge,developing skills, previewing new knowledge, learning about their status. For high schoolmath teacher, math homework help them diagnose teaching and promote continuousimprovement of mathematics teaching. However, more than a decade of curriculum reform,there are still some problems hindering the development of the student’s progress and teachingin high school math homework. We can investigate and research high school math homeworkand find the existing problems to put forward some measures for improving the teaching ofmathematics in high school. This is the original intention of this paper.I choose literature, questionnaires and interviews and other research methods in thispaper.I select a focus for the study of high school in Yantai. Through a compulsory "Basicelementary functions (I)" chapter of the learning process layout math homework, completing,correcting feedback and other aspects of the survey found that high school math homeworkexisting the following questions: Mathematics teachers are too utilitarian to layout mathhomework.Most mathematics teachers consolidate the majority of the layout of homework toconsolidate knowledge, to improve students’ solution capacity problems, and to improvestudent achievement, while ignoring the students’ attitudes and values.The difficulty and thenumber of math homework design are unreasonable and it’s inconsistent with the principles ofindividualized teaching leading to heavy academic burden on students. The phenomenon ofstudents for jobs is serious.The way of mathematics teacher arranging homework is single, a"one size fits all","one-pot", leading to academic excellence of the students,"enough to eat",poor academic performance of students,"too much"; The type of math homework is single.asingle type of job leads students tired of math homework and then lost interest in learningmathematics; Mathematics teachers are not timely when correcting homework, which makesthe students lack of timely and effective feedback. These issues affect the effectiveness of thehigh school math homework and they have brought some problems to mathematics teaching.To solve the above problem, the mathematics teachers should be rational at thecapabilities of math homework. Math homework should be arranged in the course of thethree-dimensional target echoes, with particular to the cultivation of students’ attitudes andvalues.We should design math homework according to the difficulty and the number of students’ learning situation.Homework types should be diversified through students’ interestin learning mathematics.Mathematics teachers should be timely while correcting homework,so that students can get immediate feedback. Teachers should pay attention to students’thinking process when they correct homework and focus on the use of reviews. Mathematicsteachers should pay attention to the emotional exchanges with students in the feedbackprocess for the job.
