The role of the concept of space in geography learning, like the concept of time in thehistory of the study are equally important role, geographical space is a unique symbol ofgeography. The ability of the geography spacial thinking is an important part of middleschool geography spatial ability, the geography space thinking ability of students is theimportant factor to affect the students’ geography study and solve geographic problems, theauthor through the consult massive literature found on middle school students’ ability of thegeography spacial thinking training aspects of the article is not in the minority, but about theirspatial thinking ability of middle school students level how much, how carries on theeffective evaluation, this article is less and less. So in this paper based on the ability of thegeography spacial thinking on the study of the theory, with reference to the high schoolgeography new curriculum standards, combined with the actual survey, the connotation ofeducation evaluation and the ability of the geography spacial thinking combining theconstruction of geographical space, high school students thinking ability evaluation standard,and according to this standard for some college students in Shou Guang city for empiricalanalysis.This paper is divided into six parts, the first part is introduction, firstly, describethe research background, purpose and significance of research, then introduces the currentsituation and development trend of domestic and foreign similar research, finally the researchapproaches in this thesis, the main use of the literature research method, questionnaire surveymethod,statistical analysis method etc..The second part: the overview of ability of the geography spacial thinking, theoreticalfoundation of this part mainly includes the basic concepts of ability of the geography spacialthinking definition, about the geography space thinking ability (information processingtheory,the theory of multiple intelligences, etc.) to students at home and abroad curriculumstandard of geography space thinking ability.The third part: high school geography space thinking ability evaluation criteria andevaluation steps, this part is mainly to establish the evaluation index system, first of all, it isimportant to set up the evaluation standard of ability of the geography spacialthinking principle and evaluation standard of primary and secondary factor itemselection. Then, by using statistical weighting method of quantitative assessment indexsystem, so many factors in determining the main factors to assign values to eachindex Then, by selecting the sample area, by the establishment of the evaluation standard forthe sample area high school students map literacy evaluation.The fourth part: the application of geographical space high school students thinkingability evaluation system, this part is mainly a survey by questionnaire on the currentsituation of Shou Guang middle school student geographical thinking ability, andthen analyzes the results of the survey.The fifth part: the geographical space high school students thinking ability cultivationmeasures: this part is for the last part draws conclusion and puts forward the correspondingmeasures to improve the ability of students, together with the geographical spatial thought. The sixth part: conclusion, what are the problems in the practical teaching process in theregional geography culture this part mainly discusses the geography spacethinking ability,and puts forward some improvement measures and the feasibility ofthe suggestions on the existing problems, points out the shortcomings of this study.
