The focus of the modern mathematics education is mathematics thinking education. In mathematics teaching, teachers should guide students to think actively, giving students enough thinking space and time, cultivating the students’ thinking ability, so as to improve the mathematical thinking quality of students.This paper is divided into six chapters. The first chapter is that combined with the needs of society、mathematics curriculum requirements and the present situation of mathematics teaching, I put forward that how to cultivate students’ mathematical thinking ability research topic. The second chapter analyzed current research status of training mathematical thinking ability from two aspects of domestic and foreign. The third chapter mainly introduces the concept and classification of mathematical thinking. It introduces the concept of mathematical thinking quality and characteristics and performance of mathematical thinking quality. It also introduces different views of different experts and scholars on mathematical thinking ability. The fourth chapter mainly introduces the mathematical thinking and mathematical thought about the high school mathematics teaching. The fifth chapter gives teaching strategies and teaching cases of cultivating students’ mathematical thinking ability. In the sixth chapter, research results of the full text are summarized, and the direction of further efforts in the future is put forward.
