According to the new the Curriculum Standard Chemistry, theReform Solution of Deepening the Curriculum of Ordinary HighSchools in Zhejiang Province, the Zhejiang Educational Bureau: theInstruction for Open&Run Advanced Placements Courses to OrdinaryHigh Schools by Colleges and Universities, advanced placementscourses have been listed into optional courses of chemistry of theordinary high schools. The author has researched on the coursesdevelopment and the experimental study of AP chemistry onexperimental courses in high schools from the early2013, aiming toinvestigate the basic elements of the AP experimental courses for highschools education, such as goals, contents, implements and evaluation ofthe course, etc, and to carry out a scientific, effective and feasible teaching design as an reference for teaching practices of high schoolchemistry optional courses. Based on the theory of humanisticpsychology and constructivism, it has been discussed that both scientificand humanistic features have to be balanced in teaching of high schoolchemistry, and it need more diverse talents with comprehensivepersonality and individuality. On this basis, this paper has discussed thefive unique advantages of the AP courses. Firstly, the curriculumdevelopment should be based on the development of students. Secondly,full consideration to characteristics of high school students, like age,interests and hobbies, cognitive ability as well as the requirements onhigh school education. Thirdly, the AP courses with gradation andgradient should developed and set up. Fourthly, it can stimulate theinterest of student initiative learning much more. It can also provide aguarantee for the development and cultivation of students’ personality,which emphasizes the importance and necessity of the AP chemistryexperiment courses.Opening&Practicing Advanced Placements Courses will help toimprove students’ experimental skills, not just for improving students’ability of experiment, also for providing students the space ofpersonalized choice. Furthermore, it will be a good effect to learningattitude, learning style, personality development etc. in the high schoolchemistry education. Therefore, it is feasible theoretically and practically for Opening Advanced Placements Courses.
