As the effectiveness of moral education has become one of the key factors affecting the quality of vocational education, people from all walks of life have paid great attention to it."The National Medium&Long-Term Education Reform and Development Plan (2010-2020)" mentioned that moral education should be put in the first place.What’s more, it should be integrated into all aspects of teaching, including the students’management, students’life and the whole process of school teaching. We should build effective moral education system connecting primary, secondary schools and universities, enrich moral contents, innovate forms of moral education and improve its effectiveness. More and more vocational schools have put moral education in the first place. Accordingly; Hunan Provincial Education Office has specially set up the Hunan Provincial Secondary Vocational School Moral Education Research and Guidance Center. Under such background, the author chooses "how to improve the effectiveness of moral education in secondary vocational schools" as the theme of the education master degree thesis in the hope of finding practical and efficient experience and ways of improving the effectiveness of moral education on the basis of investigating the current status of moral education work in secondary vocational schools and actively carrying out the practical exploration.Through the three methods of literature, survey research and case study, the author makes a study of the status and problems of the effectiveness of moral education in secondary vocational schools and takes Changsha Financial&Economic School as the place to carry out practical exploration about how to improve the effectiveness of moral education. The paper consists of five chapters. In the first part of the article, the author answers the origin of the problem from the two aspects of raising the question and the meaning of research, defines the two concepts of "moral education in secondary vocational schools" and "the effectiveness of moral education" and summarizes as well as sorts out the overseas and domestic research status of moral education. On this basis, the author puts forward the research ideas, the research key points, difficult points and places of innovation.In the second part of the article the author discusses the theoretical basis for the study of effectiveness of moral education in secondary vocational schools is mainly the principle of the law of moral education formation process, Durkheim’s sociological theory and moral education theory. The third part of the article the author aims at investigating the status of the effectiveness of moral education in secondary vocational schools. Through investigation, the author not only analyzes the moral education courses, the moral education activities, the work of head teachers and other course teachers in secondary vocational schools, the moral environment’s impact on secondary vocational students, the effectiveness of moral education but also finds that the impact of moral education courses on students in secondary vocational schools is not strong, the goal of moral education in secondary vocational schools is not clear, the influence of moral activity in secondary vocational schools on students is limited, the moral education work of head teachers and that of other course teachers fail to be complementary, the function of implicit education in moral environment of secondary vocational schools is poor, the impact of the construction of campus culture on the effectiveness of moral education is weak, the lack of effective evaluation tools and supervisory measures for moral education in secondary vocational schools. The author also analyzes the causes of deficiency of moral education in Changsha Financial and Economic School.The fourth part of the article is the focus of the paper. In this chapter, the author introduces the specific practices of improving the effectiveness of moral education in Changsha Financial&Economic School:Firstly to rebuild the work system of secondary vocational school moral education; Secondly to plan and adjust the contents of moral education work; Thirdly to broaden the new measures and ways of moral education; Fourthly to improve the effect of moral education as the main channel and main territory. The author also investigates and summarizes the outcome of the moral education reform. The author thinks that the achievements of moral education in Changsha Financial&Economic School mainly reflects in the following four aspects:Firstly the school has formed specific and highly operable moral education work system; Secondly the educational function of campus environment has been significantly improved; Thirdly the school has formed characteristic management concept of moral education work; Fourthly the moral education workers have formed the concept of personalising people. At the end of the chapter, the author explains the actual achievements of moral education in Changsha Financial&Economic School with the survey data.The fifth part of the article is conclusion. It points out the existing problems of research work and the expectation and suggestions of introducing the research into in-depth study.
