In today’s knowledge economy era, various aspects of the pressure of competitionintensifying, so to speed up the reform of basic education, to have the knowledge and abilitytraining of talents will become the primary task of education development. At present, Chinais to cultivate students’ practice ability and innovation spirit as the core of quality education,its guiding ideology is to the development of students as the center, in improving nationalquality and to cultivate innovative talents as the key. Inquiry learning has experienced a fewyears time, has attracted wide attention of education. We usually put the students in theteacher’s effective guidance, to select and establish the research project, and use knowledge tosolve practical problems of this kind of learning activities referred to as the investigative study.In the whole process of middle school students can from nature, society or life to search forthe topic, and to acquire knowledge through various channels. Since China promulgated the"basic education curriculum reform outline (try out)", coupled with the implementation of the"national curriculum standard", the development of basic education in China has entered anew era. The new curriculum reform introduced a new way of learning, inquiry learning is akind of opposed to accept learning approach to learning, it is the implementation ofinnovative education and cultivate students’ practical ability, an effective way to conform tothe thought of quality education, is also one of the effective way to learn of the newcurriculum advocates, it has become a bright spot in the modern basic education reform athome and abroad, has received the widespread attention from all walks of life at the sametime.This article first from the research background, purpose and significance, research status athome and abroad, research methods and ideas of; By definition, summarizes thecharacteristics of geographical research study (practicality, creativity, autonomy, procedural,etc.); From the theory of pedagogy and psychology, constructivism, humanism and cognitivestructuralism), thinks the geography research study has an important guiding role. Secondly,through the junior middle school new geography curriculum standards and the relationshipbetween research learning, fully explain the necessity of geographical research study. Finally,by using the method of questionnaire, interview method and chart method, comparativemethod and comprehensive analysis and other research methods, the yantai zhifu district four junior high school, and early implementation of geographical research study status quo of40students conducted a questionnaire survey, statistical analysis and the firsthand information,finding out the zhifu problems that exist in the middle school geography inquiry learningteaching, and puts forward the effective solutions.Through research, found that junior middle school to carry out geographical research study,should be a kind of learning way of quality education in teaching, should run through theeducation teaching activity. Zhifu district is located in the coastal, economy is relativelydeveloped, basic education level is higher, the teachers strength is relatively strong, attachesgreat importance to the gatekeeper to advanced teaching concept, but the fact is in each schoolgeography inquiry learning development still exist many problems. To this end, the paper putsforward specific solutions from six aspects: government leading, the whole society toparticipate in; Increase the extracurricular practice, attaches great importance to the process ofstudents experience; Change teaching mode, pay attention to teachers’ guiding role; Theteachers and students to participate, development topic areas; Improve the evaluation system,perfecting the evaluation system; Encourage students to strengthen the use of computernetwork.
