Wang Shouren is an outstanding thinker, politician and educator in Ming Dynasty in China. Based on his conceptions of Mind, that is "the Mind is Rite","extension of intuitive knowledge" and "the identity of knowledge and action", he advanced his childhood education ideas which centred on "understanding of the interpersonal relationship". He thinks that school education should take the children’s age and personality into account. His ideas of childhood education are helpful and meaningful to Chinese present primary education, family education and social education. According to these, Wang Shouren’s ideas of Childhood Education are chosen as the object of the research.Mainly by historical method, documentary method and case method, the thesis, based on abunbant documents,probes into the theoretical system and historical cultural origins of Wang Shouren’s childhood education ideas, sumnnarizes their features and shortcomings, aiming at providing guidance for present educational reform and development in China.
