The Development Status Of Community Social Work In Xiamen City And The Analysis For Its Influence Factors

Through questionnaire survey conducted on communities, this study tries to understand the development status of community social work of Xiamen, and to explore which factors influenced the development of community social work of Xiamen by using correlation analysis, thus to give some suggestions for reference to improving the development status of community social work of Xiamen.Through research, this study obtained the following conclusions:First, the community social work of Xiamen is wholly in the third stage, the preliminary development stage. At present, the development of community social work of Xiamen is mainly walking on the road which communities combine with social work institutions and universities collaborative development within the existing community management system. There are advantages for the development of community social work of Xiamen such as the educational level of the social workers is wholly quite high and the fields of professional social work service are relatively perfect. But at the same time, problems are existing like the number of professional social workers is too small, the professional social work training or education which the part-time and full-time social workers accepted is too little, the professional social work positions are stetted unreasonable, the professional level of the professional social work services is general not high as well as the recognition from the residents and so on.Second, besides the present existing community management system, the main factors which influence Xiamen’ community social work development are the number of professional social workers is too small, the specialization of the part-time and full-time social workers’is not strong, the social work institutions are too little, the professional social work positions are not stetted reasonability, the related policies are not perfect, the support from society is weak, and so on.To promote the community social work of Xiamen development, efforts are needed such as enlarge the number of specialization social workers, strengthen professional education and training to community part-time and full-time social workers, set more community specialization social work positions reasonably, perfect the policies related to social work, excavate and utilize social support resources fully, etc.
