This is a narrative inquiry on improving English teaching in senior high school bypleasant teaching, including five parts. The first part is Preface. At first the concept ofpleasant teaching is introduced in this part through an analysis of the status of education inour country. Then related literature about it in both our country and other countries isproposed. At last the content, methods and innovation are introduced. The second part is thefirst chapter, introducing the related concept pleasant teaching, effectiveness of Englishteaching and narrative inquiry. The third part is the second chapter, introducing the necessityof pleasant teaching in senior high school. The four part is the main part, including the third,forth and fifth chapter, introducing a teacher, Ms GU, who teaches by pleasant teaching. Thensome ideas are concluded:1. Different activities are the basic means tor pleasure teaching.2The implementation of student-centered teaching is important.3Encouragement andrecognition are important to pleasure teaching.4. Scientific and reasonable arrangements forthe promotion of teaching time to carry out the pleasure of teaching.5. Cheerful personalityhas an important impact on the implementation of the pleasure of teaching.6. Pleasureteaching needs colorful homework.7. multimedia teaching is important to pleasant teaching.8. Pleasure teaching needs harmonious teacher-student relationship. The fifth part of thisstudy is to make the study of reflection, including to reflect on teaching high school Englishenjoyable aspects of the implementation, follow-up teaching high school English pleasureresearch and extension, as well as the promotion and teaching of pleasure prospects inteaching.
