Study On The Problems And Countermeasures Of College Students’ Network Ideological And Political Education

Modern society is an information society, and the extensive use of the network hassignificant influence on our college students’ view on life and values. It has become the mainchannel for the flow of information and has been especially popular with young student for itsimmediacy, interactivity, and virtuality. In recent years, the popularity of campus network incolleges and universities make it possible for blog, webchat and other new media to quicklyspread among students. New characteristics and methods appeared in our ideological andpolitical education work. How to deal with these new characteristics and new methods is thekey to improve the effectiveness of the work. The ideological and political educators have toadapt to the new development situation, creatively work, and conscientiously study thenetwork ideological and political education.College students are the backbone of socialism building, and their political orientationplays an important role in realizing the cause of socialism building. Since1994when weobtained the access to the Internet, the Party Central Committee, State Council and ministryof education have attached great importance to the impact of the network on ideological andpolitical education of college students, and enacted many guidance documents in the20yearsof development process. Under the principles of these documents, educators and researchershave carried out extensive researches on network ideological and political education anddeveloped the initial formation of the theoretical system.At present the research on network ideological and political education mainly focuses onconcepts, object-subject and related factors, characters, media, mechanism and models ofeducation. The research field is relatively narrow. Strictly speaking, it is complex of multifactors, including the basic principle of the Marxism, integrating with knowledge of politicalscience, pedagogy, psychology, ethics, sociology and aesthetics and other related subjectsunder the guidance of the basic principle of Marxism, and network information technology.However there is less research that crosses multi subjects, and this paper, on the basis ofprevious research results, analyzes and studies the problems existing in the process ofideological and political education. This paper is comprised of three parts.The first part discusses the meaning, characteristic and necessity of the college students’ network ideological and political education. Based on the traditional ideological and politicaleducation, with the help of network technology, and under the guidance of a certain politicalideas, the college students’ network ideological and political education is a planned practicewith virtual, open and interactive features. Network ideological and political education ishelpful to improve the college students’ moral quality, the formation of correct core values,and the comprehensive and healthy development of them.The second part analyzes the current situation of college students’ network ideologicaland political education and its problems. Although the research of this subject has richachievements, problems still exist in the awareness of importance, content and methods of theeducation. For the following three main reasons, the content structure of the education issingle and form of the education is not abundant enough. The first reason is the lack ofawareness of importance of the network ideological and political education. Secondly thestructure of the education content is irrational. Thirdly the personnel quality in the networkideological and political education should be improved.The third part, aiming at problems and their causes in network ideological and politicaleducation, illustrates proposals and measures to raise the awareness of the importance ofnetwork ideological and political education, to make full use of network carrier, to strengthencultural building of the campus network, to enrich the content, mode and mechanism of theeducation and to improve the personnel quality in the education, and eventually to serve thefostering of socialism builders with sufficient cultural and technical knowledge, noble morals,firm political position.
