This research is mainly to explore TGfU of ball games, aiming at pupils of Grade6, using the method of application study. So far, there are lots of research about TGfU of ball games, all of which basically are targeting at college students or high school students. However, there is little research for primary school pupils.And most of the current research only provides theoretical knowledge, but hardly gives detail teaching plans or teaching procedures. As a result, the purpose of this research is to create a complete teaching unit, based on the theory of TGfU. After a semester’s course (about10periods of experimental lessons), Ⅰ’Ⅱ use experimental methodology to study the pupils’ knowledge, skill, attitude and performance, thus to evaluate the teaching result. For this research, I will choose pupils of Grade4from Guangzhou Xiancun Primary School as the research object. I will choose two classes, one as the experimental class, one as the comparing class. Each class has35pupils.I will use TGfU in the experimental class, while use traditional teaching method in the comparing class.After10periods of lessons, I analyzed the samples by using Software SPSS17.0and get the following result:1. After10experimental lessons, I found that not only the class who adopted TGfU has made a great progress, but also the traditional class has made a progress in football technique (P<0.01). But comparing the two method, the effect of TGfU is more obvious (P<0.01).2. After10experimental lessons, I found that the TGfU class had a better performance on football knowledge than the traditional class after systemetic analysis (P<0.01).3. After10experimental lessons, the TGfU class has made a great progress on their competitions (P<0.01). Their four targets on "return reduction","making correct decision","carrying out techniques" and "support" have made a obvious progress.4. After10experimental lessons, the pupils who used TGfU have a positive opinion on the teaching content, they think the teaching mode can stimulate their interests and meanwhile promote interpersonal relationship. And they think that it is useful for improving their ability on competition skills and performances.80to88.6percent of the whole class show that they will continue to take part in football after this smester.
