Research On The Development Of College Campus Low-carbon Consumption In Liaoning Province

With the rapid development of global industrialization, the continuous increase ofhuman demand on resources and the destruction of natural environment have resulted in theabnormal climate, the frequent occurrence of natural disasters. Confronted with theenormous challenge of the human survival environment, people now are inclined to choosethe low carbon consumption which is beneficial to improve people’s life style. Nowadays,because of the large population base, diverse classes in our country, there are somedifficulties in comprehensively implementing the low carbon consumption. As builders andsuccessors of the country’s future, college students are the reserved talented person in ourcountry. Although college students have the rising tendency towards the correctunderstanding of the theories on the low carbon consumption and low carbon life, there arestill some problems existed in our life such as the widespread weak consciousness on the lowcarbon, some worse low carbon behavior and so on. In this paper, it aims to cultivate collegestudents to set up the correct concept on the low carbon consumption, in order to build theresource saving and environmentally friendly consumption patterns in colleges anduniversities in Liaoning province area.This thesis aims at the low-carbon consumption of college campus in Liaoning provinceinspired by the concepts of low-carbon consumption at home and abroad. Started from theconnotation and characteristics of the low-carbon consumption, it analyzes the overall trendof low-carbon consumption based on the ecological view of Marxism, the sustainabledevelopment theory and the ecological economy theory. By questionnaire and on-the-spotvisiting, it selects some representative college students as the main object of study to learnthe current situation of low-carbon consumption in Liaoning colleges. Research contentincludes personal information, the awareness and understanding of low-carbon consumptionand the occurrence of personal low-carbon behavior. Finally, the study shows that the collegestudents have some problems with the understanding of low-carbon consumption and thelow-carbon behavior and the colleges of Liaoning Province have some shortcomings inschool management and campus low-carbon construction. Based on the existing problemsand restricting factors in Liaoning colleges’ low-carbon consumption, this thesis offers somesuggestions including strengthening the consciousness of the college students’ low-carbonconsumption, using the energy-conserving and emissions-reducing facilities, setting up the campus recycling system, cultivating the campus low-campus consumption culture anddeveloping the multivariate subjects forces in order to achieve the expected target.
