Chinese is the art of language, and the tool of thought. It’s not only relevant to our lives, but also plays an important role on the road of the students’academic careers. Ordinary High School Language Curriculum Standard (Experiment) points that the Chinese is the most important communication tool, and an important part of human culture. High school Chinese curriculum should further improve the students’ Chinese accomplishments, which can make the students have a strong language application ability, a certain aesthetic and exploration ability so that they can form good ideology moral, scientific and cultural qualities that lay a good foundation for their lifelong learning and personal development. In the recent years, with the reform of the college entrance examination, the Chinese has become more and more important, which makes the teachers and students change their opinions of it.Chinese homework is the extension and supplement of the classroom, which makes a big difference to their grades. Homework is a link between the teachers and students. It can also consolidate their knowledge and fill learning gaps. The teachers can know something about students’ mastery of knowledge according to the assignment so that they can adjust their teaching key points and directions in time. Due to the new curriculum, Chinese homework should improve the students’abilities and cultivation. But in fact, it has some kinds of problems, such as the single form, the boring content. Only we take the homework seriously can it give its biggest effect.The writer, combing with the new curriculum reform, made a survey whose participants was the five typical high schools of Shangcheng, Xinyang. This survey made a detailed analysis of the present situation of Chinese homework, which found its advantages, problems and put forward the stratrgies.This paper is divided into four parts: in the first chapter, it introduces the research value and the present situation of the high school Chinese homework at home and abroad. The second chapter is a summary about the condition of the new curriculum reform throught the country and Shangcheng country. Introduce the importance and the present situation of Chinese homework. In the third chapter, the writer chose part of the Shangcheng county five high school students and teachers, adopted the methods of questionnaire, interview and literature research and had a detailed investigation to their present situations of the Chinese homework in their different learning periods. At last, the writer spread the valuable parts, and pointed out lots of problems on the Chinese homework arrangements, correction and comments. In the fourth chapter, the writer comes up with some reasonable suggestions on teachers’ quality, as well as the design, correction and feedback of Chinese homework.
