Facing a fact that there is a lack of STEM talents in21st Century, American education system has been launching a STEM education and curriculum revolutioa Along with the feudal government and parliament, varieties of non-proficient institutions published laws and reports about the STEM education. The principles of American school districts and policymakers from local schools have made some impressive changes to respond to the calL Since high school connects the basic education and higher education, it occupies an distinctive place in education system. Those high school graduates should be prepared for both college and career. Thus, In order to cultivate talented STEM students and workers, it is indispensable to carry out STEM curriculum in high school.With the development of globalization, China is facing the same problem with America, too. At this point, through the evolution of American STEM education curriculum reform, it is necessary for us to draw deep lessons and conclude the positive points. This paper can be divided into3main parts:At the very first, this paper reviews the history of STEM curriculum before21st Century, analyses the historical backgrounds of STEM education, the beginning of STEM integration and the expansion of education subjects.Then this paper focuses on the development of STEM curriculum in nowadays. It contains2parts:the current development of STEM curriculum in21st century and the following analysis about it.Finally, according to the previous analysis of the history and development of American STEM curriculum, we can get great lessons and analyze the advantages, guiding our STEM education curriculum reform.
