STEM education began in the United States, but now has become popular like a blazing prairie fire in the world. STEM education is integrated science, technology, engineering and mathematics subjects through the approachas such like problem-based learning, project-based learning, engineering design methods. In STEM education practice, students’interest in STEM related discipline and academic achievement in the field of STEM are relatively improved. This paper will be to study on STEM education practice course, and on this basis to explore elementary school science education curriculum design.To provide a reference point to integrate STEM into science education and improve the status quo of science education curriculum design in our country. This thesis mainly divided into the following several parts:The first part clarified the research background and significance of this paper. Put forward the research purpose and research methods of this paper and presented foreign and domestic existing related researches.The second part was the international primary and secondary schools in STEM education research status. Including STEM education concept, STEM literacy, analyzing the STEM education related disciplines including the relationship between science, technology, engineering and mathematics.This part also revealed the research trend of the development of STEM, especially studying on STEM education practic, and discussed the different types of STEM education.The third part was based on the STEM education of primary school science curriculum design and case. This part consists of three contents. First, three typical chosen course cases of the U.S. STEM education were comprehensively introducted. Second, from the perspectives of object, teaching content, teaching mode, teaching evaluation to detailed analysis cases, tried to reveal the characteristics of STEM curriculum design;The fourth part:Based on the foregoing analysis, constructed the STEM into the elementary school science curriculum design model, and selected the theme "bridge" in the existing primary Nature, showed the fusion STEM education science teaching design.The fifth part:Conclusion. To summarize the front three parts, and referred to the deficiency of this research, as well as the direction of further research.
