Filial piety is a traditional virtue advocated by the Chinese nation, and has been taken as a primary and initial morality in social ethnics of China for thousands of years. Filial piety is the most essential content in ethical and moral concept adored and respected by Confucianism and the whole nation. In the major environment "taking filial piety as the foundation", few researches are involved with universities’ and students’ emphasis, cognition and practice on Chinese traditional Confucian filial piety culture, for university is important base for culture propagation and scientific research, while students are future "successors" of the Chinese nation. Based on predecessors’ research on Confucian filial piety culture, the paper is designed to study the practical significance of Confucian filial piety culture in aspect of originality, basic content, basic feature, core concept and Confucian filial piety culture’s role in ideological and moral education for university students. Moreover, questionnaire survey is performed with the objective to study four Hunan universities’ education on students in aspect of filial piety culture. On this basis, the paper analyzes major issues with filial piety education in current ideological and moral education for university students, as well as the urgency and necessity to integrate Confucian filial piety culture with ideological and moral education for university students. In addition, the paper further explores four channels to integrate Confucian filial piety culture with ideological and moral education for university students. Firstly, we are to study how to introduce filial piety culture education into classroom teaching system of university. Secondly, filial piety culture education shall be introduced into campus cultural activities of high educational institutions. Thirdly, filial piety culture education shall be combined with moral environment construction system of higher educational institutions. Fourthly, filial piety culture education shall be introduced into students’ comprehensive assessment system. This research aims to provide useful references for university students’ ideological and moral education in higher educational institutions’ reformation.
