Objective The elderly due to difference in age, physical quality difference is very big. what kind of exercise is more advantageous to improve the balance needs further research.This study aims to through regular Health Qigong-Baduanjin exercise, discusses the influence of Health Qigong-Baduanjin Exercise on the balance in the elderly.Methods Selected 18 elderly as the research object, randomly divided into experimental group and control group, each group 9 people, the experimental group for three months to Health Qigong-Baduanjin exercise, control group without any intervention. Adopt German MTD balance testing to test static balance ability of the two groups before and after the experiment, gathering four indicators with their eyes open or close`s length, peripheral area, and maximum swing of before-after and left-right, for the subjects TUGT, to evaluate dynamic balance of the elderly. Using Excel 2007 and SPSS 17.0 statistical analysis of data, All significance levels were set at P <0.05.Result 1)Before the research, there was no significant difference in length、area、maximum swing of before-after and left-right between the two groups(P >0.05);After training, there was no significant difference in length、area and left-right maximum swing between the two groups(P >0.05),but all data of experimental group was less than the other, the maximum swing of before-after in open condition after training has significant difference(P < 0.05), the maximum swing of before-after`s difference is highly significant in close condition(P < 0.01). 2)Experimental group with their eyes open or close, the length decreased significantly before and after the experiment, with significant difference(P < 0.05), before-after the biggest swing are significantly smaller, highly significant difference(P < 0.01), other indexes had no significant difference(P > 0.05);In eyes closed condition, peripheral area of control group significantly larger, had highly significant difference(P < 0.01), while the maximum swing of before-after significantly larger, open condition difference had significant change(P < 0.05),close condition had a highly significant difference(P < 0.01),and other indicators no significant change(P > 0.05). 3) Before the test, there was no significant difference between the two groups in TUGT(P > 0.05), after three months of Health Qigong-Baduanjin exercise, there wassignificant difference between the two groups(P < 0.05); to the experimental group, there was significant difference before and after the test(P < 0.05), while the control group had no significant difference(P > 0.05),and more time used, slower walking speed.Conclusion Health Qigong-Baduanjin strengthens the movement control ability in the direction of the human body before-after, furthermore, it is good to the increase of the dynamic balance of body coordination,can effectively improve balance in the elderly. Health Qigong-Baduanjin is a safe, effective and suitable sports for the elderly.
