Function is the core content of mathematics teaching in middle school, its importance is self-evident. Entered high school, function is the first to learn, it is developed and extended based on the function of the junior school,students often can not correctly distinguish the difference and connection of the function between middle and high school, so it is difficult to learn, which brings the difficulty to the learning of mathematics. Especially, rural students encounter more difficulties.Therefore, in order to let the students can easily accept the function of this part, adapt to the early high school, it is very important to link up the function teaching in junior high school and high school.After reading a lot of related literature, using the method of literature research,questionnaire survey and case analysis, based on Piaget’s Cognitive Development Theory, the Constructivist Theory, "the Zone of Proximal Development" Theory,survied the learning situation of students about function and individual interviews with teachers in the city of Wenchang, Hainan Province, according to the analysis of scores, combined with the result of the investigation and the interview result, we can know the reasons of students’ learning difficulties are different knowledge in middle school and high school, the factors of teachers and students.In view of the above problems, I compared the difference of the Mathematics Curriculum Standards, analyzed the function of junior and senior high school, summarized the difference and connection of the function between junior and senior high school in contents, methods of thinking, the students’ thinking ability. From the angle of teacher’s teaching and students’ learning, analysis the existing problems of the students in thinking ability, learning mode and methods, the teachers’ problems in its theoretical basis,mathematical literacy and teaching methods. And according to the actual situation, proposed the corresponding solution strategy mainly from the angle of the transition of knowledge points, improvement of teaching strategies and learning strategies. Among them, strengthen the teaching of concept, the convergence of knowledge, we can use the situational teachingand write the teaching materia.And gived a specific teaching case in the end of the article,paied attention to the training of students’ ability in teaching design,with the help of the proposed teaching strategies, provides a visual display of the function teaching.
