A Research On The Status Of Postgraduates’ Marriage Effort-Reward

On behalf of the social exchange theory of Homans and Blau’s view, any human social interaction can be explained by economic perspective and commodity trading relationship in the market analogy, human interaction marriage is no exception.Marriage process is an interactive process. Emotional body wants to reward from marriage when he/she pays a certain spiritual or material costs in marriage or during the process of seeking marriage. If the reward is greater than the effort, people will feel satisfied and balanced, while if the reward is less than the efford, people will have a bad mood. If negative emotions persist, it will affect people’s physical and mental health. Master is in a golden period of marriage, so all of the students are experiencing the inevitable pros and cons of marriage. Therefore, understanding and grasping the experience of graduate marrage effort status, marriage reward status and marriage effort-reward imbalances status will help us to understand the current situation of students’ marriage experience and help students to adjust negative attitude.In this paper, the research methods are questionnaires and interviews, while the subjects are 270 Liaoning Normal University graduate. Questionnaire included gender, professional and other eight fundamental factors.The results of survey showed that: Most postgraduates have appropriate marriage effort experience, but there are a small part of them experience high marriage effort. Postgraduates’ marriage effort experience exist significant differences in gender, grade and marriage status.Most postgraduates have appropriate marriage reward experience, but there are a few of them experiences low marriage reward. Postgraduates’ marriage reward experience exist significant differences in gender and marriage status. Most postgraduates have low effort- high reward marriage experience. However, there are still nearly twenty percent of them have high effort-low reward marriage experience.To solve the above problems, we will carry on the reason analysis from five aspects, like influence of the modern transformation of the social gender roles. Then, we will put forward the corresponding educational suggestions from three aspects, including school, family, and self. The school should pay attention to postgraduate marriage problems, strengthen marriage guidance. Parents should avoid utilitarian concept of marriage, and respect children marriage choice. Students should have a correct understanding of love and marriage problem, and establish a healithy view of love and marriage.
