With the deepening of the education reform in the world, more and more people come to realize the role of teachers in education reform. They focus on teachers’ professional development and professional literacy promotion as the core problem of the education reform. Teaching reflection is an effective method to promote and facilitate the process of teachers’ professional. At the same time, the teaching reflection of teachers has become an important direction of international teacher education reform. Teachers can update the concept of teaching, improve the teaching behavior and level by teaching reflection, but in fact the role of teaching reflection didn’t work, it still stay in inefficient or invalid state.Based on this, the paper first summarized the origin of the research on teaching reflection of the effectiveness, and the theoretical basis of this study, to clarify the purpose and significance of this study, then summarizes the current status of research on teaching reflection and purposes the thinking of this current situation based on previous studies. Secondly, starting from the angle of school, teacher and classroom, this paper analysis the present situation of teaching reflection by teachers interview, observation on teachers’ teaching classroom and a questionnaire survey on M high school teachers in Lanzhou. At the same time, there still exist many problems, such as the poor system of reflective teaching, the lack of reflection atmosphere and time, the old concept of reflection awareness, the low level of reflection, method and so on. Therefore, to make the teaching reflection play the real effect, it needs all efforts of school and teachers. Finally, aiming at the existing problems of teaching reflection, we propose some strategies to make the teaching more effective and provides some references for the reflection of the current situation of inefficiency. As one of the important ways to promote the professional development of teachers, teaching reflection can help the growth of teachers, and promote the development of the school. So it must be changed from the poor reflection to the effective reflection with the efforts of schools and teachers.
