The probability is a science to study random phenomena, which is closely related to people’s daily life and social development and is widely used in real life. Education researchers view it as the basic knowledge citizens should have so as to be written in the new curriculum standard to make it become the key contents of the college entrance examination. Researchers and front-line teachers have paid more and more attention to the probability teaching and question design related to it. This research focuses on students’ understanding of the meaning of probability through helping students better understand random ideas and establish random belief.This study analyzes theoretically from various aspects in unit perspective in the following way through grasping probability knowledge in textbooks in senior high school thoroughly.Content analysis: the probability regards random thoughts as the main line, mainly focuses on several important mathematical models such as the classical probability model, refers to some simple probability calculations as well; Standard analysis: Based on the analysis of probability’s teaching requirements in curriculum standards, we realize that its teaching is prone to test and analysis of examples and focus on solving practical questions; Students analysis: The study mainly shows the teaching of probability should be fully taken into account the students’ cognitive development level and their hobbies through collecting a large number of examples; Selective analysis: it highlights the teaching design surrounding the random thought cultivation, the establishment of the random concept, the understanding of probability’s meaning and the use of the simple model to calculate the probability; teaching materials’ contrastive analysis: This study make the ways to deal with probability knowledge in different directions and its different levels clear to broaden the idea of teaching design.According to the specific analysis mentioned above, this study provides teaching designs of the classical probability model, binomial distribution and the probability of the college entrance examination directed by unit teaching design, which give an example of its teaching design.
