The human has advanced into information era in21st century. Information has been an essential part of social system and the activity of community is closely related to information system. As a member in society, besides cultural literacy which the industrial society needs, such as reading, writing and calculating, one should also has information literacy in order to adapt information society. As an important component of basic science education which is closely associated with actual production and real life, chemistry is significant for improving students’scientific literacy and promoting student’s overall development. Chemical teaching in information age not only provides students chemical professional knowledge, but fosters students to grasp skills of accessing, processing, evaluating and utilizing chemical information as well.Based on the research of information literacy and chemical information literacy at home and abroad, our research tried to establish the theory frame of high school students’ chemical information literacy. Meanwhile, we designed chemical information literacy scale for high school students which based on the theory hypothesis, analyzed results which offered secondary school teachers reference to know the current situation of high school students’ chemical information literacy and improve teaching strategy.The thesis consists of seven parts, the main contents are as follows:First, we clarified the reasons for selecting this thesis.Secondly, we summarized the relevant researches about information literacy domestic and overseas and analyzed the internal present research situation of chemical information literacy.Thirdly, we illustrated the purposes, methods and contents of our research.In the fourth part, the theory frame of high school students’ chemical information literacy was built and chemical information literacy is defined. We also elaborated elements which compose chemical information literacy and constructed its assessment indicator system.In the fifth part, we demonstrated the process of designing the survey and did item analysis and exploratory factor analysis by using statistical software. In the sixth part, we did confirmatory research and investigated two high schools. By analyzing the collected data deeply, we drew relevant conclusions. We also analyzed the current situation of high school students’chemical information literacy and the difference of gender, age and school form. In terms of the findings, pedagogical suggestion was raised to act as reference for high school chemical education.Finally, we came up with questions which could be solved in the future. We analyzed problems in our research process and determined our aims in the future.
