The Early Stage Of Primary School Enrollment School Parents Counseling Research Status

The beginning stage of primary school, which is also the commerce of elementary education, has great impact on students. This study aims to investigate the necessity of parents’ guidance and the conditions of practice of school in this stage.500 parents from two primary schools in Nanchang and Shijiazhuang were investigated using two self-made questionaries Adaptation Questionnaire of Primary Students at the Beginning Stage and Necessity Questionnaire of Primary Students’ Parents towards School Guidance. The result shows the adaption level of primary students in beginning stage is intermediate. Within four adaption aspects, from high aspects to low aspects are interaction adaptation, school life adaptation, mood and emotion representation, and study adaptation. Meanwhile, parents’ expectation towards school guidance turns in high level, which indicates the necessity of school guidance. Furthermore, this study applies observation and interview, summarizing and analysing the current conditions of school’s tutorial towards parents. The QQ group chatting record and the content of parents-teacher meeting were arranged and observed. Schools’ policy and tutorial conditions are analysed through the interview of three presidents and five head teachers. Several problems were observed through interview and observation, such as lacking characters of content of tutorial practice,singleness of tutorial form, which represent key problems in tutorials of parents at this stage.This study finally puts some plans in purpose of optimizing tutorial: add on-job training for head teachers, combination of new and old educational methods, flexible curriculum to meet parents’ needs. It is supposed to optimize the current tutorial practice through interview and advising.
