Ivy League’s mission is training social elites, they insist on recruiting all-round development people with leadership potential; insist on diversity recruitment,designed to create a multicultural campus environment conducive to elite training.The admission criterion of Ivy League has considered the academic and non-academic factors, considered large-scale standardized examination result and high school academic achievement, and considered factors such as personality,extracurricular activities and other aspects to appraise the students comprehensively.In order to recruit excellent students in the fierce competition, Ivy League schools have formed a professional recruitment team, insisting on early admission policy."Ivy League" undergraduate admission system has the features of America research university in common, but also reflects the characteristics of America system as the top private research university. The Ivy League’s elite concept is constantly changing, aristocratic elite which is based on social status has given way to academic elite which is based on academic standards. Under the protection of admission autonomy and influence by the theory of multiple intelligences and the multi-culture campus theory, Ivy League’s undergraduate admission system has six features:Adhering to the concept of integrated evaluation, having a sound legal system,exploring students’ prominent individuality beyond academic achievements, pursuing the objectivity and fairness, and suiting admission measures to different university’s condition.China’s research university has established and adopted the autonomous admission policy, but still emphasis on the college entrance examination scores,universities are confused with unclear autonomy during the admission process,admission standards and evaluation methods are criticized by unscientific and unfair.Through the study of the "Ivy League" undergraduate admission system, some suggestions are put forward: 1. Expand university’s admission autonomy, admission and examination process could be separated with the consideration of the development of Chinese higher education and education fairness, and allowuniversity autonomous recruit students to the greatest extent. 2. Formulate and implement diversity admission standards to different university condition, and be open and transparent under the strict admission procedures. 3. Adopt integrated evaluation, besides test scores, other factors can be gradually, actually incorporated into the index system. 4. Improve the admission supervision mechanism constantly,and ensure reform admission system step by step under the premise of supervision and education fairness.
