With the improvement of China’s international status, China’s urbanization has won attention from all of the world, which be considered one of the most influenced things of the 21 st century. The rate of China’s urbanization ranged from less than 20 % at the early stage of new nation to 50% in the modern society, and it contains a large part of the floating population, but it is rare to see that the the rate of urbanization has grown to that degree in the world. Correspond to phenomenon, due to the steps of the urbanization was expanded excessively and the unreasonable planning of the scope of the whole China is not comprehensive, moreover, blindly seeking the increase of urban population and the expansion of city scale, the elements of the urban internal conflicts intensified, at last, this phenomenon caused the serious social problems. Considering the city’s population was not balanced with the urban internal elements which form stable equilibrium state of development, and the connotation and the polytropy of urbanization has developed in a diverse and volatile way. The index list of one or more simple methods cannot fully reflect the urbanization problems, in recent years, the multi-factor model of integration analysis method is widely used.The article introduces the concept of balanced development of the population and the evaluation of the level of urbanization, the population balance degree refers to the urban population and the elements within the system of the coordinated development degree. Structure is composed of four parts, the first part is the introduction,which mainly elaborated the research background of urbanization in China and presents a review of the relevant theories about urbanization, it provided a theoretical basis for the analysis and conclusions. The second part is the introduction of the concept of balanced development of the population, and this part refers to various data then add personal point of view, clear the connotation of balanced development of the population used in this article, namely each element in the population and urban coordinated development level, and explain the population equilibrium as the evaluation of the advantages of urbanization. The third part is the specific evaluation process of the development level of China’s population is balanced, and using the principal component to analysize the development of the Chinese population levels do change and analysis on the spatial differentiation for many years, the changed tendency of the balanced development of the population level for many years, and the cause of differentiation on the space. The fourth part is the evaluation results of the third chapter and China’s current situation of the urbanization and the balanced development of the population are faced with the problem, at last put forward possible solutions.
