The instruction of foreign poetry reading is the part ignored in Chinese teaching of the middle school.Thus, the value of poetry is covered in itself. And in actual teaching, the effect of foreign poetry reading is far from perfection. This kind of situation is related to some issues in the dimensions of curriculum and instruction.Chapter 1 gives the explanation about the status and the value of foreign poetry in the Chinese course of middle school.Contrary to the real status and value, foreign poetry has a great importance in the course, and its reading values presents a diverse condition.Chapter 2, in the perspective of curriculum and instruction, separately analyses the problems in the dimensions of curriculum and instruction. First, in the dimension of curriculum, I sort out and analyze the teaching content of Curriculum standards and the teaching material so as to obtain the origin of the problems. Meanwhile, in the dimension of instruction, I review and analyze the teaching content and the foreign poetry teaching methods.Chapter 3 attempts to seize the features of foreign poetry, which differs greatly from ones of Chinese poetry and to distinguish foreign poetry reading from general poetry reading. The understanding of the features of foreign poetry reading is to further and strengthen the basis of the research of foreign poetry course. The author discusses the feature from some aspects, such as culture, image, and style. Especially for style of foreign poetry, I further my comparative analysis from the sentence pattern, the rhythm, vocabulary, phonology, semantics and syntax and so on.Chapter 4, based on the understanding of the features of foreign poetry, puts forward some essential requirements of foreign poetry reading. Through the study and comparative analysis of foreign poetry cases, we reveal the basic requirements the foreign poetry reading should reach.Chapter5 discusses the implementation strategies:Based on the essential requirements of foreign poetry reading, combining the related theories proposed by Professor Wang longsheng, such as "life experience"、"reading orientation"、 " teaching content", with some teaching records and study cases, we discuss the effective strategies of the instruction of foreign poetry reading.The thesis adopts the document study and empirical study and restudy the instruction of foreign poetry reading from the view of curriculum and instruction. And in the paper, through understanding the uniqueness of foreign poetry, and presenting requirements of foreign poetry teaching, we tentatively raise several correct and effective implementation strategies of the instruction of foreign poetry reading.
