Education is to make people to get comprehensive development. A new round of curriculum reform of “people-oriented” start in 2001 July, This means that in the new stage of education, every student’s personality and specialty should be well cultivated and developed. The specialty students especially art specialty students are becoming more and more, Most of them are weak in geographical foundation and low in Geography studying ability, which become stumbling blocks to enter their ideal university. Basic education curriculum reform in our country pointed out that the need to change the way of the students learn, pay attention to the cultivation of students learning ability, enable the students to have real learning, which requires the art students to have a certain skill of geographical learning ability which also lay the foundation for their lifelong development. This is deserved to be studied. This research is in order to help the art specialty students increase their self-confidence, improve their Geography studying efficiency and at the same time has a guide significance to the Geography teaching.The methods of this research mainly include the methods of literature review, questionnaire survey method, interview method, observation method etc with humanism, basis of the literature at our country and abroad for reference education theory, such as constructivism education theory, cognitive learning theory, the differences between teaching theory and the theory of multiple intelligences, review on the research status and research progress of geographical learning ability, find out the latest developments of art specialty students in geography learning ability, in order to provide theoretical support and method guidance for this research.In order to have a clear understanding on the current situation and the existing problems of high school art students geography learning ability, the author designed a questionnaire and selected the students of Gong Yi city art professional school, Gong Yi II high school and Gong Yi III high school as questionnaires and interviewed the teachers and students there, to find out the art life and corporation in high school geography learning attitude, interest, the difference of studying method, and gave birth to the studying problems of art specialty students’ are their own characteristics of problems in geography learning ability have a lack of motivation, find out the characteristics and the differences of geographical learning between the art specialty students and the normal students are the image reading comprehension ability of art specialty students are poor, geographical thinking difference, geographical knowledge application and innovation ability is poor, interesting is weak, bad learning habits, learning methods, willpower is not strong, the poor quality of thinking non-intellectual characteristics, combining the art high school geography learning situation, analyzes the forms and the geography learning ability is low formation reasons, but there is also some advantages of art specialty students such as the particularity of art students thinking in images developed, Mapping ability, the characteristics of sensitive lines, color, pattern profile, composite those to their geography foundation is weak, the knowledge is not systematic, the characteristics of short learning time, Put forward the cultivates of arts high school geography learning strategy: setting up the new curriculum, developing the construction of a harmonious relationship between teachers and student, cultivating interest, learning motivation, cultivating good study habits, the appropriate method to guide and strengthen the cultivation of non-intelligence factors such as willpower, teaching in class cultivate their geographic application and innovation ability, through these measures can improve the learning ability of Arts Students’ geography and let them obtain the comprehensive development.The innovation of this paper: set out from the thinking characteristics in geographic learning between art special students and normal students, find out the influence of non intelligence factors of art specialty students’ ability of learning geography, analysis why the learning ability of art specialty students is low, and then put forward to the strategies of cultivating students ability of art specialty students in learning,geography,Those can not only guide the art special students learning effectly,but can also ric h the difference teaching theory at the same time.
