| There is no denying that the traditional teacher-centered teaching pattern is the main oral teaching approach of our country. We spend much time on it but with low efficiency. However, with the further reform of the new curriculum system, students are required to improve their oral English to a higher level.In addition, along with economic development, social progress and more frequent interactions between countries, researchers begin to change their traditional thoughts. Under such circumstances, the teacher-centered teaching pattern shows more and more disadvantages. The interactive teaching approach originate from the communicative language teaching which obtained great attention. It makes the different ideas and opinions mixed through equally communication between teacher and students, students and students, students and materials in order to arouse their initiative and exploration. The thesis is based on the oral teaching theory and interactive teaching theory. And it focuses on applying interactive teaching approach to oral English.The subjects of this experiment were selected from two classes in Qinan No.2 Middle School. They were divided into the experimental class and the control one. Experimental class employed interactive teaching approach and in the control class traditional teacher-centered teaching pattern were carried out.Three months experiment has been conducted in oral English class. What’s more, English tests,questionnaire and interview were employed. In this study, two research questions were addressed: ⑴Can interactive teaching approach facilitate the students’ oral English ability? ⑵Can interactive teaching approach improve students’ willingness to communicate?Throughout the whole experimentation, quantitative and qualitative research instruments were employed for data collection and analysis. The findings of the oral test and interview show that the interactive oral English teaching approach can further develop student’s communicative ability. In addition,the data of questionnaire by means of comparing experimental class with the control class shows that the interactive teaching approach can motivate students’ willingness to communicate. At last, the thesis comes to the conclusion that it is not only necessary, but also effective to apply interactive teaching approach to senior high school. |
