It’s an admitted fact that the physical fitness of present college students are deteriorating. This health problem among young people has aroused the attention of numerous scholars and politicians. Basic physical training, serving as the primary exercise form, is neglected by increasing numbers of students due to pressing study time and scarce site and facility. To deal with this situation, some scholars has proposed "Compulsive Exercise", urging students to finish fixed amount of exercise assignment under certain monitoring pattern. At present, such monitoring patterns as swiping card exercise and fingerprint check-ins have been put into practice. But they are subject to appointed training site, relatively concentrated exercise time arrangement, and expensive and consumable equipment, all of which has impeded their expansion among college students. Moreover, many students, lacking in exercising knowledge, adjust their running process according to personal feelings. It is, to a great extent, aimless and has no assured effectivenessThis thesis attempts to design an intelligence software supported by the latest Android-based smart phones, integrating such functions as GPS positioning, built-in map, and gravity sensor to provide real-time feedback on motion trail, exercise distance and time and then work out the real-time speed and average speed. In this paper, a running test lasting about 30 minutes has been conducted, with heart rate ranging from 140 to 160 (aerobic interval for current college students). We’ve selected randomly students (both female and male) with different BMI index to have this test in that the speed students need to reach the same exercise effect is various because of different body posture. In this way, we can analyze the data of the selected students within the scope of BMI index, to decide the average speed they need, and then put the data collected into the sports software. This intelligence software make students aware of the average range of speed for effective exercise complying with their own condition just by inputting their height and weight. Control running exercise through average speed ensures that every time the students have running exercise, they can enter aerobic training interval to enhance cardiopulmonary function and control running speed in case of danger. The new type of running mode helps stimulate the students’exercising interests, and scientific running also renders their exercise more systematic and effective. This monitoring system imports exercisers’ data through student clients and enter Clouds by means of the server’s uploading function. Then the administrator analyzes and evaluates the students’after-class exercise data via computer, and arranges relevant task to improve their physical condition. This management mode downsizes faculty to a reasonable structure, and gives full play to students’spare time, breaking the time and space constraints on their exercise. School managers can monitor students’after-class exercise through this system and in the meantime obtain an all-around improvement of students’ physical fitness. The fulfillment of the monitoring system in this research will not only boost students’subjective exercising interest, but also provide reference for new types of evaluation method in physical education curriculum. It is highly applicable among students, teachers and school education area.
