Research On The Theory Of Cultural Memory

Culture and Memory in human history is an ancient topic,and also becomes one of the hottest topics among theory academics during recent years.Since Germen scholar Jan Assmann and Aleida Assmann put forward the theory of cultural memory in the 1990s,many disciplines such as psychology, literature, sociology, history, economics, political science, anthropology, folklore, could find out the "invasion" and prosperous development of cultural memory."In the contemporary literature research paradigm, the core parts of paradigm are memory and remembering."So this paper aims to clarify of the development of the study of memory,and finally using Germen scholar Jan Assmann and Aleida Assmann’s theory to summarize a conclusion.This article is divided into four parts:The first part is foreword part of this article.First of all, "Zhirenlunshi", mainly introduces the background of the theory of memory and the evolution of memory research. Secondly introduces theory of the cultural memory;At last, narratives the situation of "travelling" and "transplantation" of the theory of culture memory.The second part is the first chapter of this article.Mainly analysis the development of ancient Greek memory research.This paper argues that the memory view of western philosophy has experienced the ancient ontological concept of memory, medieval Christian theology view of memory, the modern epistemology concept of memory and memory generation of life philosophy,which basically analyzing from the metaphysics angle.The third part is the second chapter of this article. The theory of cultural memory encounter its enlightenment—— the social transition of memory research. Since Maurice Halbwachs’s "collective memory" has pioneered to use memory research theory on sociology field,including Aby Warburg’s "social memory" and Pierre Nora’s "memory games", they laid a solid foundation on Germen "new culture research" in 1990s, as the right source of the theory of cultural memory.The fourth part is the last part of this article.First,it introducts the theory background of cultural memory and its theory connotation.Second, the memory research can be divided into individual memory, communication and cultural memory.Third, from the angle of the development of media technology,the cultural memory can be divided into oral culture with "ceremony Association" and writing culture with "text association".But I think, in the electronic age especially after the outbreak of the information, the audio-visual media has replaced the leading position of oral, writing in the culture, has become the foundation of electronic media age, so that mankind has entered the the electronic age with "audio-visual Association".Fourth, the Assmann couple make a distinction between the function of the memory.At last,the paper finally draw the conclusion.
