Business etiquette, which embodies the respect, is behavior standard in daily business communication activities,. That is to say, it is the universal demand of grooming and manners in business activities. With the development of economic globalization, many countries strengthen economic cooperation. Business activities among people from all different cultural backgrounds have become more and more frequent. Businesspeople of different cultural backgrounds, world views and senses of value follow different business etiquette. They may inevitably meet problems, misunderstanding and conflicts in cross-cultural communication. It is particularly important to strengthen cultural understanding, overcome cultural conflict and strengthen cultural communication and cooperation. At present, many scholars have researched intercultural business etiquette, especially business etiquette of China and the United States. However, many studies are based on the perspective of intercultural communication to compare the difference of business etiquette.Based on Cultural Dimension Theory, the author researches the difference of business etiquette of China and the United States. This study adopts questionnaire to investigate78staffs in state-owned enterprises, such as CNPC, Xian Iron and Steel LTD and in U.S. enterprises such as BDI company and Inductotherm Group so as to explore the influence of business etiquette in business activities and different behaviors of the business etiquette. According to the data statistics, the major findings are that in the modern business activities, business etiquette plays an important role, and business etiquette between China and the United States has differences in address, seating arrangement, mode of expression, concept of face, innovation, time sense and focus of business activities.On this basis, in the view of Cultural Dimension Theory, the author analyzes the differences of business etiquette between China and the United States. And through analysis of the cases, power distance, individualism&collectivism, uncertainty avoidance and long-term orientation&short-term orientation are the reasons for differences in business etiquette between China and the United States. Next, the author analyzes cultural elements for the differences of the business etiquette between China and the United States from social structure; thinking and ethics. Finally, according to the differences of Sino-America business etiquette, the author from the perspective of business etiquette gives the Sino-America businesspeople some feasible suggestions to improve the effectiveness of business activities, which have certain practical significance.
