History is an essential humanities, it contains a substantial number of humanistic qualities especially some of them are unique. Studying and researching history can develop a person to consider independently, to view comprehensively, to criticize skeptically, and to think rationally. Cultivating humanistic quality should be an emphasis of middle school history teaching. Through this way not only can reform the disadvantages of current education but also can exercise student’s individual thinking ability, improve student’s thinking level, shape student’s perfect personalities, and then all-dimensionally improve the national quality, promote social harmony and progress.To cultivate student’s humanistic quality in the middle school history teaching should be based on the features of history discipline. History teaching ought to be established in historical data teaching, it can inspire students to question historical date, to change their mind and to view the historical figures critically. Teachers should select diversified, conflicting historical data and multi-angle standpoints, to create a democratic atmosphere in the classroom. And then combine historical facts with commentary, make full use of complex historical events, to activate students’ mind and make them breakthrough traditional thinking mode, emancipate their thought, draw their own conclusions after analysis, brainstorming, discussion and contrast.
