Nowadays, almost everyone agree to bring forward "Humanistic Quality Education". On Aug 6, 2004, stressed to strengthen the humanistic quality and scientific spirit of college student. The 16th and 17th Party National Congress has clearly put forward fully to carry out the Party's education policy and impel the education for all-around development. Premier Wen Jiabao re-emphasized the importance of the humanistic quality education and make the new demands "constructing world class universities and training outstanding people" to universities in the report of government work of year 2010.Looking from the Higher Education development throughout the world, strengthening the humanistic quality education of college student has been the development trend; judging from the practice of college education in China, the earlier departmental system and the pressure of entering the higher school are all the main causes that bring about the drawback of quality education of middle school students in practical operation. Several investigations showed that the quality education state of middle school students makes a person anxious which has been paied more and more attention by many of wide awake people and which provides us caution on the reform of higher education. It has been the world trend on the reform and development of higher education that the humanistic quality education should been highlighted and intensified to adopt to the world trend.With the profound changes of the international and domestic situation, the humanistic quality education is possessing quite a number of favorable conditions, but facing a harsh situation. The demand of new situation, new conditions and new development decides the humanistic quality education of college student should been intensified and deepened. Paying attention to the humanistic quality education is not only the objective requirement of adopting to the economic, technological and social development in the context of globalization, but also the important topic faced by university to deepen the educational reform.So, this may be particularly important for the time-honored university, even for the morden comprehensive university. With the deeper reform in Chinese higher education institutes, the morden comprehensive university has been a new kind of structure in Chinese higher education. In the end of 90's, the strategy of great-leap-forward development had beed implemented, and enrollment scale had been expanded continuously. An abundance of mordern comprehensive universities has been formed by adjusting and merge ring 766 universities into 295 throughout the country in 1992-2003. By merge ring, the strength of the comprehensive and multi-disciplinary universities have been greatly enhanced. These have the following features: 1) being good at science and engineering,2) being relatively weak in humanities and lacking of profound tradition and heavy cultural foundation in old universities,3) facing the complicated situation of multi-campus and 4) facing new opportunity and challenge in training talents by resource integration. With the spring up of the mordern comprehensive university, there are many new problems been worthy of further study in the humanistic quality education research. So, studying on humanistic quality education in the mordern comprehensive university is of important meaning both on theory and practice for the reform and development of higher education in China.The thesis, surrounding the features of the morden comprehensive university, exploring the meanings and value of humanistic quality education and analyzing reasonably for current situation and its origin, puts up with the novel way of thinking and the new approach for adopting to reform the humanistic quality education in morden comprehensive university.
