Background:The ninth item of The Teaching Program for National College Physical Education Course points out "the college physical education course should encourage students to be subject and teachers to be leading role. The Teaching Program advocates open and exploratory teaching making efforts to expand the sports curriculum space and time." The twelfth item points out "teaching method should pay attention to individuation and diversification, advocating multilateral interaction between teachers and students, between students and students. Making efforts to improve the creativity and enthusiasm of students to enjoy sports better.Should not just pay attention to the teaching method, more attention should be paid to how to strengthen the students’learning methods and practice guidance improving the self-learning ability of students." Most of the college tennis courses are not carried out exploratory teaching in China and the traditional teaching effect is not satisfied. There are three points what influence the implement of exploratory teaching during tennis course:1, Shortage of tennis field is a common phenomenon in domestic colleges and universities.2, The stroking technique of tennis sport is extremely difficult and there is no guarantee that students can practice by themselves effectively; 3, Tennis skill theory courses are not enough for students to give full play to the advantages of intelligence, discussion and information gathering. The above three questions are very difficult to solve. This paper try to use sports engineering and technology to improve them.Purpose:To improve space utilization, to ensure effective class students autonomous practice and to offer students the biggest platform of intelligence advantage with the intervention of sports engineering means. To improve the tennis lesson inquiry-based teaching conditions and make the inquisitive teaching tennis lessons develop smoothly and get better teaching effect than traditional teaching.Methods:the literature material method, model method, experimental method, field survey method, mathematical statistics.Results:1, The development of tennis teaching equipment.2, The valid practice time and space to accommodate rate of the experimental class were significantly higher than that of control group.3, After the experiment, the forehand technical indicators of test score and the number of valid return of the experimental group were higher than the control group.Conclusion:1 Improved tennis sports of inquiry teaching conditions with engineering means:tennis court separation between net and the design of the network to collect network improved the utilization rate of the site and meet the requirements of the site required for group work practice; Designated batting practice, tennis racquet arm swing Angle fixed belt, trajectory auxiliary class, the design of the control device to ensure the students under the independent effective practice; 2 Sports engineering methods to improve exploratory experimental classes of teaching conditions achievements have obvious advantages than that in comparative classes. Sports engineering equipment of inquiry teaching has a positive role in promoting technology learning.
